Question Alternator choices?

Guys,

Have a choice between Land Rover, Denso, Global Power, or Magnelli brand 100 amp alternators for a 300 Tdi engine. Any recommendations? Huge pric differences between them, and know nothing about reliability with each.

There's a new option, Gwyn Lewis is doing an aux alternator bracket and alternator that'll fit where the AC compressor goes if that's of interest. I know having mine flake out on a recent trip was seriously annoying. (the whole story is long and complicated but needless, having a 2nd alternator would be nice).

Land Rover will be either Denso or Marelli... which, again, will be the same, as Denso owns most of Magneti Marelli and, IMHO, simply rebadges them.

I know nothing about Global Power.

I have had 6 cars and replaced 5 alternators. All 4 were off the shelf from autozone, advanced auto or napa(generic delco 10si for generator to alternator conversion). never have i ever had to replace the one i replaced, nor did i notice any electrical irregularities.
