Air Filter Housing

Went to replace my air filter today with a K&N, I unfastened the three clips, pulled the trumpet/end piece and it wouldn't budge. I tried for 15 min pulling on it as hard as I dared, even tried prying it with a screwdriver but it's just stuck like crazy. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Throw the K&N away, stock paper is best.

Whichever filter I use, I need to get the freakin trumpet off to change it. I soaked it 3 times with a high performance deep penetrant spray which didn't work. I can't believe this thing is that stuck. It is just the 3 clips that hold it on, right?
