aftermarket fuel filer

Does anyone have any thoughts on aftermarket fuel filters... I was primarily thinking of the small "coffee can" type.... Mounting it under the hood up and out of the way?

Well, Fram does make a replacement for it that is easily available around here. Moving the location wouldn't be hard, just put in a short section of steel line where it is now, and splice it in wherever you want.

What is wrong with the stock one? They sell cheap ones at Walmart.

Just curious... Those aftermarket canister types are pretty cheap too. I was just thumbing through a summit catalog and wondered if anyone had done something like that.

Cheers,

With anything in the Summit catalog, you have to be VERY VERY careful. The fuel pump probably puts out around 75psi or more, and will literally pop most of the filters that summit carries.

Those are usually only made for 4-6psi in a carb setup, EFI is a much higher pressure beast. Stick with the proper parts in this case.
