Advice on Parts Import?

I've been wondering if people here ever get together to ship larger parts over from the UK to help reduce the costs a bit? (and back actually) or if anyone ships their vehicles over for trips in containers with extra space I could buy up?

I'm shipping my 110 from Southampton to Halifax in October and have decided to do all the restoration work at home and farm out some of the engineering/machine work but some of the parts are going to add up once shipping is included. If anyone knows of domestic suppliers for the parts I'd love to hear about them as well.

Basically I'm after some things like bumpers, Exmoor Trim seats, a reman 200TDI, a Richards Chassis, etc all fairly big and difficult to ship, not in any particular hurry either so if anyone here ships regularly and could offer some space I'd love to get a PM and see if we can arrange something.

Thanks.

You want to talk to both George at RDS and Stephen of SafariRover.

Much appreciated, still getting a sense of the landscape. A bit different than Disco parts

Andrew, the Series boys down in St. John, NB bring containers over a couple times a year. Had my 300Tdi and gearbox brought over by them last Oct. They call themselves Eurauto Club. They have shipped over vehicles as well.

I will PM you the contact details.

Brett
