Adjusting tailgate

ST tailgate isn't flush when closed. There is about a 1/4 inch gap at the bottom on the latch side. Is there a way I can adjust this? Would my lovely tire carrier be a part of this problem?

Thanks,
Alex

RDS hinge repair kits. 9/10 fixes the issue (3/3 for me anyway).

I figured out how to install it (I'm gifted I l know) and even cut the bolt off.

So, all in place, and the gate swings better but it really didn't fix my gap. I still have a significant gap on the lower left corner. Any ideas how to correct that? Should I add a washer or two to the top right hinge? Or is there another more correct way to do this?

Thanks,
Alex

Gap photos. It's not as significant however it's still there. The right side of the tailgate, where the hinges are located, is flat when the gate is shut.

You need to adjust the hinges on the tailgate. Loosen the bolts screwed I to door and readjust.
