Adjusting Defender Drum brakes

It seems like I am always suffering from what I think is too much pedal travel on my brakes on my NAS 110. I routinely adjust the rear drums but I wonder if I am doing the job properly. I usually rotate the drum, turn the cam till the wheel stops and then back off until I feel that the brake shoe is not dragging on the wheel.

Am I backing off too much?

How do you guys do your brakes?

Bump from the dead. Got the new MC and flex lines installed today and the entire thing bled down but you can hear the shoes flopping closed on the right rear. Is there a "better" way to adjust them? I'd rather not tear them down just now.

I assume you both realize that 110 drums have two adjusters? One for each shoe.
Pissing people off on the "net" since 1983.

Land Rover. Turning owners into mechanics since 1948.

The adjusters also wear out. A new non-Land Rover set is pretty cheap, I think in the $30 or so range.
