Did you recently re-wire your ignition switch?
If you put the wires on it in the wrong locations that kind of stuff can happen.

I assume the ignition switch could also be bad?

Follow-up Post:

If the Ignition switch is Bad, is a different switch going to be needed when I switch from a 2.5 petrol to a 200tdi?
If it is, I may just have to try and live with it. As long as I make sure everything is off, I should be OK, right?

I would say that it is very possible the switch itself is bad. I have had that same problem on other vehicles and it was the switch.

Still bad

I just swapped out the ignition switch, and the battery light and the accessories still stay on. Does anyone have any other ideas?
There is a red wire with a soft rubber connector not connected to anything, and a green one.
