AC in a 1983 LHD 110 X-Swiss Fire Service

Installed a Diavia unit that came from a NAS 90 (not sure what year).
Put the temp controls in the center gauge area by shifting to 2 gauge holes 3/16" left.
The aluminum panel was milled in so the legend plate for the controls fits flush.
Wired the puller electric cooling fan to work in sync with the pusher AC fan.
Both fans come on when the thermo switch indicates the engine needs cooling or when the AC is running.
The air flow is strong resulting in very cold air that comes out of the duct vents immediately.
When the AC is running you can touch both sides of the condenser without getting burned.
We wrapped the metal lines with the black sticky AC "gum puckey" and there is not one drop of condensation water dripping on the floor.
Before the wrap there was a steady drip onto the passengers floor.
The type that would get Overlander's wife's purse soaking wet and ruin the Land Rover Persona...

I favor the Diavia unit over the Elite style because it is less invasive of the knee room and the elite units are 1 piece with a cover.
This configuration is notorious for leaking water in the foolwells.
The cover fits from the bottom allowing condensation to leak.
Also the elite units mount the controls in the main housing duct that is exposed to the conditioned air helping to corrode them.

Attached a few pictures for illustration...

The only issue is the fuse box cover no longer fits, but could be trimmed.
Anyone have the right cover?
Otherwise am going to trim the stock cover to clear the ducting.

Nice to drive around in 98 deg F heat today and get out of the 110 without your shirt stuck to your back.

I made my own bracket with a 200 AMP alternator as well.
Note the Mercedes Power Steering Pump, the best world wide...

We never ever run a clutch fan... note the electric cooling fan...
That long extended factory fan shroud is always in the way that is used with the clutch fan and now removed.
Look at the room with the electric fan and the efficiency of an on demand thermo switch.

I once read about a guy who was going to make some super cool drop-in Mercedes mounts for a 200Tdi install. Those would be perfect. I'll have to search the forum and find out when they were supposed to be available.
