AC Doesn't Blow Cold

Whenever I turn on the AC in my 95 D90 ST, the AC doesn't blow cold air. This has been happening for a few months now. It worked fine before. Could it be as simple as recharging the AC or might it be something more serious?

I apologize if there's already been a similar thread to this. I searched and couldn't find anything.

Thank you,
Charles

No freon, you may have a leak in A/C circuit.

Do you hear the "click" and feel the load on the engine when you turn it on? If the compressor is not engaging, it won't get cold.

And compressor won't engage if it doesn't have refrigerant. Add refrigerant and do the identify-leak-via-UV-light route.

Mine seems to lose refrigerant every couple years and I think the leak is very small. Mildly annoying.

I would vacuum it down and see if it holds negative pressure. If it holds you don't have a leak. Then re-charge it. I have the tools in Northern NJ of you need them.

Mine was plugged with contaminants from the failed drier in the regulator thingy near the evaporator. So, needed to have an ac shop custom make ac lines to fit the genuine drier as there are no ac lines that fit any drier on V8 trucks. Hope you are just low on 134....or youll be out 400-700.
