Sounds like water or moisture is collecting and mildew is growing. Try cleaning the drain, it may be plugged up.

Clean the drains and make sure the water is coming out the bottom. Once you have done this, spray a ton of lysol into the vents and the intake.

Summer is coming, take the all damn thing apart
and give it a good clean. I just did to mine and
got scared with the amount of dirt, it was clogged
with a black damp spongy stuff .
