97 D90 Speedo adjustment

I've got a 97 D90 with 4.11 and 285 70R16 tires. Can one adjust the speedo to the correct ratio?

Yes, if you take it to a speedometer shop or replace it with an aftermarket VDO, where you can adjust it yourself.

Correct me if im wrong but I think 97s have a gear inside the T-case that drives the speedo still. There are a bunch of different toothed gears you can swap to. This is not as accurate as getting a VDO and getting it programmed to the correct speed, but it can be a cheaper way to go about it. How many miles per hour are you off?

there are:
frc3310 20 teeth
frc3311 21 teeth
frc3312 22 teeth
frc3313 24 teeth

I,m almost positive that the 97 has the same sender as the discos VSS. My speed is off about 10 mph @ 60 mph real speed.

The real trouble is when it thinks you are going 100MPH and it cuts the fuel injectors off...

100 in a defender is easy . You just have to get an ECU out of a classic that does not have the 85mph fuel cut. Now if you took your swaybars off then forget being a speed demon.

Someone said something about a VDO speedometer? It uses the same mechanism as the old defender speedo? Any parts number? I need to renew some gauge and I already have VDO gauge. Would like to have a complete VDO setup.

But an RRC ecu won't do much good in a '97
