97 Bulb holder sidemarker replacement ?

My rear sidemarker light bulb holders are rusted and need replacement ideas . The bulb holders are part of the harness but I'll cut and splice to fit aftermarket replacements ( http://www.roversnorth.com/store/p-6...rker-lamp.aspx ) . Any ideas or suggestions ?

In case you have to change the lens, i'll give you a little tip.
The clear lens for the Rover 75 is one third of the price
of the clear lens for the Defender and it's exactly the
same part. The local LR representative here sell one
for 36 USD and the other for 13 USD. Great policy...

If this is the case you can get the repair harness for the lights on the auto trans shifter and use just the metal connector from that part to repair your socket.

I did this on two of my discos.

Or just call will tillary and have him cut one or two off and ship it to you.

George, I may have an extra set as I bought replacement lights at NAPA for the Yellow fronts and read rears. There was noting wrong with my harness, I only wanted the lens. Let me check on the messy place called a work bench and will let you know. If I can find them you can have them for the cost of shipping.

Speaking of side marker lights.....I don't know if this was referenced in the comment about clear lenses but anyone put clear side marker lenses on their d-90 and then changed the bulb to orange for the front and red for the rear?

I did, so far for all 6 turning lights. Put 30 leds bulbs, had to make slight mod
to the lens base. Putting new led generation bulbs now.
I think clear lens age better and look better IMO.

I've tried to source the side markers with clear lense. Any help would be appreciated as well as bulbs.

Thanks

Nothing I know of fits the hole in the fender properly. The small rounded rectangle ones off a 2000 and up p38a are available in clear as are the oval shaped ones off of disco II.

Ahhhh well that sucks. Well if I find anything I will post it up here. I would like to change my markers to clear with colored bulbs but that might not be possible with a NAS.

Anyone used the small rounded rectangle ones? What type of mods would be needed to fit those?

Try NAPA as they may carry what you need. You can also check out Trucklite's website.
