Truck starts 1 out of 10 ignition turns. Batt, alt, cables all checked, assuming ignition. Any way to check with out pulling ignition?

Do you mean the starter engages 1/10 times? Or it cranks, but won't catch 1/10 times

Just a click, doesn't engage. When turns over starts right up. I can hear fuel pump running when engaged as well

Bosch starter? If so, Bosch made in Mexico or Bosch made in Germany? My made in Mexico died after two years with similar symptoms. My German unit has been perfect every time for the past 2!

Hummm, good idea. Easier to pull starter and have checked vs risking cracked/warped dashed assembly / reassembly on ignition.
I'll try it, thanks

If it's just clicking but not turning the starter then it's the starter solenoid. Either clean it out or just replace the starter.

But if it's a loud whack from under the truck, definitely the starter solenoid.

Yep, bad starter. Wish they would try n fix rather then slap another one on, but sounds like bendix missing teeth.
