94 D90 with fast turn signals.

I just recently got a 94 D90. The past owner replaced the front bumper but decided to leave out the turn signals in the bumper. Now when you turn them on the have a fast blink and clicking noise. The kind of noise you get if you have a bulb out. Is there a different relay I can use to slow them down?

Does it have front turn signals at all? If you hook up lights the flashing will go back to slow.

Some folks deleted those bumpers and associated lights, then wired in the lower round yellow as a turn signal like the 95s.

You can fix that by replacing the relay....

Do a search here or on Dweb. I cannot remember where I read it.

I did the very same mod and now have fast flashers. Guess the resistance of the bulb for the bumper is different from the 94' running light. Thinking the 95' uses a different bulb? At least the lens is a larger dia.

I had the same issue- replaced all the bulbs for the turn signals with 7506s. Problem gone.

Cheers

Did they actually move the turn signals to the parking lights or do you have no signals in the front? If they moved the signals than it may be as simple as a bulb but if they didn't then it is likely the missing turn signals causing the issue. There is a wrote up on here that will explain how to correct it.

Did the same mod and made the lower running light the turn signal with a yellow bulb. I didn't run into any fast blinking (which is a sign that the bulb is out).

Here's the relay write up on Dweb:
http://www.discoweb.org/blinkers/index.htm
I did this when I deleted the rear bumper lights on my D1.

The bulb from the turn signal will fit in the socket. That all that was done when I moved them from the bumper before I put my winch bumper on.

I also rewired the lower running lights as flashers. I converted them to LED and added a resistor I got off ebay to compensate for the resistance issue. I used heat shrink and electrical tape to make a nice clean installation. About an hour job to do it right. You need to remove the passenger side headlight to get to the connectors on that side, but can get to the driver's side cables with some fishing around and a little patience.
