The plastic arches are trimmed about an inch evenly all the way around if i remember correctly. I dont believe there was any metal trimming but may be mistaken.

Trevor Combs ran XZL 37" , they fit nicely in the archers . I ran superswamper and had no issues as the tire are not wide .

I have used and am selling my 8.25R16 XZLs. They're awesome tires. Very stable and tough. Just the right amount of road noise to let you feel cool without getting annoying. I'm sure the 9.00R16 will be the same.
