7 Seat to 9 Seat Conversion

Hey guys,

I'm a newbie here and to LR's in general, and am looking to buy a 2007 110 XS with 7 seats, in the hope that I can buy 4 inward facing tip up seats and seat belts to convert it to 9 seats.

Has anyone done this before and is it a straightforward swap?

I basically want a later Defender with the TDCi engine but with 9 seats!

Any input appreciated

Cheers, Paul.

This is pretty much a US based forum. You may want to try the UK forums for advice on this. We are 20 times friendlier but we deal with NAS or 25 year old trucks.

Hiya Paul,
It can be easily done, but you risk failing your MOT if you get caught as the '07 models only had front-facing seats installed from the factory. Would recommend buying an older 110 and upgrading to the XS seats in the 1st and 2nd rows if you need a 9-seater.

Regards,
Art Vigil
