7 pin trailer wiring -

Just making sure i have this right after digging through the forum.
Goal is to make it so i can tow a braked trailer and charge the on board battery.

Step 1 - Convert Euro 7 pin to 4 Pin - Rover parts harness already installed.

Step 2 Convert 4 Pin to US 7 Pin - https://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Curt/C57674.html
i picked this one since it also gives me traditional 4 pin as well on the plug.

Step 3 Wire in a brake controller - https://www.etrailer.com/Brake-Contr...sha/90195.html

Step 4 wire in a Toad-Charge to supply power to the trailer batteries and prevent main battery drag.
TOAD-CHARGE Dinghy Vehicle Battery Charger/Maintainer

Am i missing anything.

(the trailer is not braked at present, so the brake controller and the trailer axle will be future projects)

Here is the trailer wiring diagram that i am looking at using - its been done already

Adding some links for the trailer side of the wiring

It already has the euro to 4 pin adapter so I'll add on instead of completely rewiring and cutting off the existing adapter.

The most important thing about wiring the connectors is being sure to wire them for industry standards for correct placement of connections. This is important also if you ever use someone else's trailer that the wires mate up to the industry standard positions. It's easy to get confused at this point because of the 4 different views of the connectors involved. Front or rear of male plug and front or rear view of female recepticle.

Another critical thing is if the trailer uses the same bulb element for the brake lamp and the turn signal lamp, you'll also need a converter to isolate the D's separate bulbs yet "light-up" the common element on the trailer for bakes and turn signal. I would not use a wiring block as you are proposing to do for corrosion reasons but butt soldier the wire and use heat shrink to cover the wire joint. Cut the main wire & joint them at 3/4" intervals (stagger) so you don't end up with one big fat area where all the wires are end butted & heat shrunk together.
Once connections and bulbs & brake actuation is verified, tape with 3M elec. tape (yes, use 3M brand the other cheap stuff is junk! ) & then cover with some of that cable protector stuff as used by LR under the hood to help prevent chaffing.

This diagram may help.

The wiring block will go in a tongue box, so out of the elements, along with all the other trailer wiring.
That gives me a easy way to add the brakes when I eventually swap axles on the m101.

This may be the better answer for euro 7 to 4 pin connections..

https://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Tow-Ready/118710.html

Convert the euro 7 pin to 4 pin then wire as you say directly to the US 7/4 pin female truck side already posted.

I can eliminate the rover parts converter box and easily add in the Toad 12v connection.

I'm dispose to pick up the trailer tomorrow but looks like that will be delayed with snow/ice coming tonight/tomorrow

Which is a bummer since I need to pull the hard top as well and leave it for paint with brewie while I'm there.
