6 speed g/ box

Help we are touring the USA in our 2010 defender[puma ford engine&6speed trani] our gearbox has started to whine quite alarmingly, oil level is ok sounds like the main box,,,We are heading for UTAH can any one recommend a g/box specialist,,thanks steve/m

How many kilometers on it? You're positive it's not the transfer case?

It does use the same box as the six speed Ford Mustangs. Some ratios vary as do the connections to the engine etc.

But wait, there is more. Aren't UK Land Rovers covered by a three year unlimited warranty. That would be an interesting one to discuss at the local Land Rover dealership which has no experience with either the Puma or the six speed box.

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

Not sure what happens now, but back in the day a decade plus ago, the dealer I worked at did a couple of ROW truck repairs for travelers.
