5 bar chequer/checker plate in the US?

I searched, found a thread from 2003...

Any pointers to a source for 5 bar in the US? I'd rather not use diamond.

Thanks

I've bought 4' square sheets from DAP-inc over the years. pricey to ship though and hope that UPS doesn't bend it.

Call an aluminum supplier, they can get it. I found it pretty easily back in the pre-internet days using the Thomas Register.
You might need to email them a jpeg image to make sure you get what you want.
I looked not too long ago and found it, but can't remember who is was. Some major metals supplier.

Not sure if they have it but if they do they are everywhere and will sell it to you by the square inch.

Has anyone got a material price? I found a source (discountsteel.com) for 1/8th inch in a 3x4 ft sheet for $50. That still seems high.

Seems pretty reasonable to me, but I'm accustomed to UK prices and the 20% VAT...

That's pretty decent. A full 4x8 sheet of 1/8th inch diamond plate runs $120 from my supplier.
