4.2 cam suggestion

Anyone have a suggestion for a cam for a 4.2? We are going to rebuild the old one I have and want to give it a little more pep.
Thanks

I had the Piper 285 in a built up 4.6... big valve/ported heads, higher compression, etc.

It was definitely too much cam. Great power on the road, (really great) but I could never get it to idle right. It wasnt just lopey, it was mullet/camaro fire breathing lopey.

So my suggestion is, something less than a Piper 285. (or paint a trans am bird on the hood and go for it)

i have a Crower 50229 in my 4.2 rebuild. Feels like a perfect balance to me.

I had the piper 270 in a 3.9 I built. It was ok but I wouldn't recomend it as something that woke up that engine.

I did a 229 in a 4.2, the engine was very tired at 223k. Did a complete top to bottom rebuild, I wish I would've used the 230. I was happy with the 230 in my RRC's 3.9.
