4.0 Intermittent Sputter/Stall

96 Disco with the 4.0. Every once in a while when I start it up it has a high idle (1500rpms), and eventually smooths out to normal once it warms up. But the main issue is that it will intermittently sputter and stall at idle, usually when the motor is warm. The CEL has not come on. I've checked for vacuum leaks, checked all hoses, replaced the MAF, cleaned the intake, verified spark to all 8 cylinders, 02s read fine on the code reader. Zero hard starts, or issues restarting. I have not checked fuel pressure as I don't think it's a pump/filter issue.

As the issue is intermittent, I've concluded it's electronic related. Thoughts?

Check the wiring for the crank sensor, it will rub through on the block and cause an intermittent misfire.

I have a very similar issue on my 95 Disco. When the truck is at temperature and I come to a stop it might sputter once in a while, but has never stalled. No light come on and it acts normal after that. I was thinking it was fuel related. Maybe fuel temp or filter could be clogged. I've never looked into it too deep but its very simliar symptoms.
