Hay guys, I'm hunting for a steering wheel right now. I was and still confused. My truck has a steering wheel with 3 spokes like the photo above. Does that mean that I have a 48 spline boss/steering wheel?
Does the spokes matter? Also, would a discovery wheel fit?

You can look at the splines and count them. That's the surest way to know how many splines they have.

This might sound like a silly question. Does anyone know if 36 spline come in a 3 spoke wheels?

So, from what I see in post #19 there's a lower set of splines and upper splines. Also, from that very same post, the gent had to use a chevy boss to fit a 3 spoke steering wheel. Ok, I guess I'll have to have my mechanic count the number of splines since my 3 spoke steering wheel is on my pre-tdi truck. Am I on the right path?

Thanks guys. I will have it counted this week. Tdi thanks for the offer. Would you hold it for me? My steering wheel is about 14-15 inches wide. I'm sure it was changed at some point to a sports looking wheel. I really so like it. How it broke, only God knows.

Just at a glance, would anyone be able to tell me if this is an pre-tdi steering wheel before I have it removed?

No way to tell for sure, that's a aftermarket mounty wheel. Same thing I have in my 110. Mine is a 36 spline.

Thanks man. Is it possible that I could unbolt the 6 bolts and change the centre section. One of my spokes cracked.

You just pop the plastic horn off the center and look inside. Remove the nut you find to see the splines. The horn is not held on with anything other than friction.

And, yes, the wheel itself is just the six bolts. Is it really cracked? Those wheels are very easy to bend.

It is a Mountney wheel, like this: http://www.lrparts.net/defender-stee...ck-spokes.html

That's it. Cracked like an egg. In fact, one if the spokes snapped.
