300tdi injector and VE pump servicing

I have just had my 300tdi injectors serviced with new nozzles. I was pleasantly surprised by the improvements.
Engine is smoother, quieter and the biggest improvement I have seen is off turbo power. Low speed hills were a problem for me, especially my very steep driveway(Blue Ridge) but now car will accelerate cleanly and well from ~ 1500 rpm in second whereas before I had to slow down and select first gear. Hill climbing overall is significantly improved. Here in the NC mountains that is very important.

The injectors were serviced by a friend of mine in Maine. I sourced the nozzles on Ebay UK for about $145. They are genuine Bosch and Brazilian made. He installed them and checked the primary pressure. Checking and adjusting secondary pressure on these injectors is not easy as the shims are all staked in place but adjustments are rarely needed I understand.
It seems that these nozzles are not easy to find in USA and are pricey.

If you need work of this type done or need new seals in your VE injector pump, contact him as follows:

Tom Bryant
Wiscasset Maine

email: Thosbryant@gmail.com

He is meticulous comes highly recommended. He also services Volvo diesel injectors, IP's and SU carburetors.
I am all smiles. The servicing was very worthwhile doing.

Very interested in getting a set serviced. How much did he charge to re-nozzle with supplied parts?

Also, what eBay seller did you purchase the nozzles from?

I bought my nozzles at "diesel-top-shop".

Tom is very reasonable but he should speak for himself so please email him to get a quote from him.

Thanks,

Steve

I thought about doing mine myself too. I opted to send them to Tom because he has lots of injector experience and some test equipment so it seemed to make sense.

Very pleased with the results.

Lav, all my heavy duty diesel stuff has gone locally to a shop in alexandria off general washington, and or another located in marlow heights (I will have to do more research on that as I know where it is located but cant remember the address)
if interested let me know, I can look deeper into it.
