300tdi fuel filter Alternative (Shorter Body)

Any ideas on a part # for a fuel filter for a 300tdi that is a little shorter then the stock one? Do they make one?

Thanks to pendy, I went with a Racor, and never looked back. In the primary filter, I went with their shorter length.

Not sure what your issue is, but you should be able to make a riser for your existing filter pretty easily out of flat bar with 4 holes pretty easily. There should be room in the bonnet cavity to allow some vertical movement.

Yeah, Racor is the way to go. There were several CAV filters fitted over the years, what model do you have?

any reason why I shouldn't be using the cooper/puralator one for an '84 diesel rabbit @ my local autozone?

I just need about an inch of clearance for a custom shock mount setup.. Do they make a shorter filter for the stock filter assembly?

I like the racors but would rather save the $$ right now..

My 2 cents I would try to relocate the filter.

The Wix filter for a 84 Volkswagen rabbit diesel works and is a shorter body.
