Hi Jeff, i was used to a manual coupled to a 200BHp 3.9V8 so after i finished my 300tdi auto build it was a bit of a shock to have traffic pull away from me at the lights, however i am now used to it and love it.

I built mine with a standard 300tdi, 1.22 trans as the autobox was originally a disco item.
i am running on 235x85x16 tyres & found that the gearing is a little high the box shifts into top at 52mph and i can just about cruise @ 70mph @ 3000rpm

I may change the xfer box to a 1.4 defender item as this will allow the box to change into top at 45ish and allow the engine to rev past 3K, however i have now adjusted to driving a log burner just fine and 24-26Mpg dont hurt that much.

i have a build thread on here somewhere

regards all

BTW the "electronic" version of the 300tdi as fitted in the later disco's did have a higher output 133bhp i think using a modified pump and different injectors.

the kickdown cable is attached to a lever assy bolted to the top of the accellerator cam on the pump, easy to fit and remove.

When I bought my LR 300tdi engine conversion kit from Frog's Isl in 2001, They worked with Ashcroft to get me mated up with the 4HP22. Got down to the finish line and I needed the arm on the IP to attach the kick down cable to. Ashcroft sent it out right away, but I had to wait another week to get 'er on the road.

Nothing happens. Autobox trucks have a starter interlock so the starter will only work in N or P.

Hi Guys! You can see pictures (and if you know spanish even read about it) of the ZF4hp22 install on my tweaked D110 300tdi. I really loved it while it worked since autobox or converter are busted now. Im back to the R380 momentarely but till I fix the auto again and will put it back in.

It was the perfect combination for off road on rocky terrain.

Thanks for the link!
Today I forgot to tell you my autobox arrived last week...
I'll put it away, maybe in a future...who knows!
