I Driver a 300 TDI Disco with an Auto that I bought off the board and this Spring I'm going to install lockers. I'm trying to decide if I should re-gear at the same time. I have 245/75's on the truck and do not plan to go bigger. Right now I'm happy with the gearing, but was wondering if I should change from 3.54:1 to 3.9:1 when I add the Lockers. The only time I really fell the lack of power is when the truck is loaded for camping. Can anyone think of any disadvantages to this? or is the jump so small that it wont make a difference.
thanks for any input even if it is get over to Discoweb. :grin
One thing you could do; ditch the drive by wire system (so you'll need a "mechanical" injection pump and throttle cable, straight swap over) then you can easily tweek the pump and boost to give a nice power boost.
I was referring to the 2.0mpi engine'd discos that had a 1.4
