300 Tdi Electrical Diagrams

I have one hundred or so pages of 300 Tdi information on my RAVE CD but very little on electrical diagrams/schematics. Does anyone have these somewhere I can download them or can email/fax them to me?

kevin at collinsorganization dot com

Thanks,

Kevin

I know...that's what I was thinking...but the mechanic is asking for everything that's available on the motor...I think he's scared to screwing it up.

Follow-up Post:

Does the 300 Tdi have cam and crank pos sensors? If so, where are they located? Don't laugh guys...I'm writing this from my office...the truck isn't sitting in front of me

No. The only things on the engine are as below assuming a run of the mill Defender 300TDI with a non-electronic injector pump and no optional stuff.

- Power to the fuel solenoid.
- Water temperature sensor
- Oil pressure switch.
- Power and idiot light wires to alternator.
- Engine ground.
- 12 volt to starter post.
- Starter solenoid power (to turn on starter)
- Glow plug power

What harness set up are you running? It matters, there is a remarkably large difference in spec. Early ones you can get by with the one page wiring diagram that is out there. With newer ones, especially alarm-spec and EDC set-ups you need the newer multi-page color diagrams.

email me, I can probably help you find what you need.

Jim,

It's early...a '96. I think I've got it figured out with what I found on RAVE. I'll post again tomorrow after I get a chance in the morning to take another look and drive it some.

Thanks,

Kevin

so is it a NAS spec rig that has been converted or a foriegn spec that would actually have a Tdi harness? Some of the later (96-97) foriegn spec 300's have a ridiculous engine harness with the imobiliztion, EGR, EDC ....etc, etc. All comes down to not needing much other than Bucks simplistic gem of info, but getting to that isn't easy, but is all covered on RAVE.

I'm looking for a wiring diagram for a 1998 300 Tdi ROW truck - no EGR, EDC, headlight levelers or other stupid onboard electronic doo-dads - just basic stuff.

It's a foreign spec...Central American. I know there's an EGR. Once I can get out of here sometime mid morning I'm going to go look at it a little closer.

I'm pretty sure the Haynes Diesel Defender manual has bot EGR and non-EGR wiring diagram. If you need more email me and I can scan it.
