I want to install cut and egt gauges on my 300 tdi
is there one gauge that will do both, and does any body know what size ring for the sending unit that goes around the injector for the cht?
Never seen a CHT gauge on a car. That's more of an aircraft thing for aircooled engines. Since the 300 is water cooled a water temperature gauge would be more informative. They fit in the cylinder head behind the thermostat housing and the thread is 1/8" NPT.
These motors run cool as a cucumber when the IP is tuned at or near stock settings. I wouldn't worry about CHT. Accurate coolant temp (think VDO gauge) and EGT probe are enough to keep an eye on the temperature.
