3.9 RR to 3.9 D90 question

I have a 95 NAS D90 (yeah I'm new to the GAS fed LR's) and would like to know if a 89 Range Rover 3.9 is the same as the 95 D90 3.9. I'm thinking about buying a local one for a spare to keep on hand if all the parts are the same... Elecronics, A/C comp, Alt, etc... Thanks!
