3/4" x 48 spline steering shaft

Does anyone know if there are other vehicles out there that use the same steering shaft splines as Rover? Looking for a stubby piece of shaft end for my conversion project.

RRC won't work? The steering wheel on my 88 RRC looks just like a D90 (but with cruise buttons), but I have not pulled it off the shaft to check.

All Rover models from Series thru P38 use this format for all steering connections; box, shaft, column, wheel.
If anyone has a nearly perfect non rusty stubby chunk, let me know.

I am putting a new shaft in mine to remove the "knuckle" issue with my headers. You are welcome to the old one for a nominal fee if that helps you out.

Bill A, did you get yours from Bill C or something else. I am in the same boat - need a chunk of steering shaft.

I got an 18 inch piece that was splined on both ends. I think with shipping it was about 20-something clams.
Here's one possible vendor:

Piss poor planning means I didn't hang onto a few things I should have . I sent the rest off to Randy Williams/RoverBones so can ask him if he has anything lying around.

It's better to just get a new piece. The RRC one is probably corroded.

Do you happen to have links handy for the other bits you bought Bill, like the pillow bush/bearing?

I do have the lower shaft that connects to the steering box but it's a bit short. Did you take this 18" piece and go all the way to the box? I need to go revisit your build thread but iirc the pictures show an upper piece, which I assume is a joint and maybe that breakaway thingy
