285 75 16's with a 2.5 petrol

I was wondering if there would be too much strain on a 2.5 petrol running 285 75 16's ? I currently have 265 75 16's and it seems find, but then again, I am clueless! I have a L/R 90 1985, if that makes any difference.
Thanks, yet again

I think you'd be better off with 235/85R16's - tighter turning radius and less drag.

I ran 255/85's on my truck for a while - went back to the 235/85's because they rubbed the raduius arms.

I run 255/85Rx16 tires on my 2.5na diesel 90 with stock gearing and I like it. I didn't have to adjust the steering either though I do have lift of about 2 inches.
