Castrol 20w-50, I've used it for years in every V8 Rover I've owned. Good for hot weather and is approved for use in the owner's manual as such.

I run 20w-50 Amsoil in high heat down here and it runs strong.

I run that in the summer up here and its fine. These old V8s have loads of tolerances for that thick shit. You could probably run it on a sand/muddy water mixture and it would be fine.
