The torque specs in the manual for the spill rail bolts say 20-30 nm. I was putting the glow plugs in and the those numbers seem way too high.
Do they need to be that tight?

And does anyone have an extra banjo bolt?

From my RAVE, (although this is for 300Tdi, which is more or less the same engine anyway) it states:

Spill rail to injectors (banjo bolt) 10nm

Spill rail to injection pump (banjo bolt) 25nm

Fuel filter from lift pump (banjo bolt) 33nm

Fuel filter to FIP (banjo) 33nm

FIP from fuel filter (banjo) 25nm

Those bajo bolts on the spill rails are tiddly, so it's literally just a gentle tweek with your hand to do them up.

As tight as you feel safe.... They love coming lose. Actually some Locktite could not hurt.

Torque wrench, smork wrench. Everyone needs to develop a feel for when a fastener is approaching its limit....
