200TDI running temp

What's the optimal running temp for a 200tdi? I've searched but found nothing. I just got the gauge working!

Whatever the middle of the range between the thermostat closing and being fully open is.

Mine runs at a steady 185 and climb to 195 under load and time .

Hi Tom-
Mine barely registers on the temp guage in the winter... In the summer it(the needle) only rises about 1/3 of the way from the cool end of the guage. It runs great and never has never given me trouble.

180-185 year round @ 2k rpm or less. Over 2k rpm the temp rises to around 200 regardless of ambient temp.
Highest I have ever seen was 205 on a 90 degree day pulling a loaded 25ft boat trailer and truck full of people, dog, luggage, etc.
Ie...if I'm going over 65mph it gets warmer, below 65 cold as a cucumber.

Damn... guess I should start getting my 200tdi ready to install. I am lucky if my 2.5 NAD will pull my fat butt up a hill in 3rd without leaving a black cloud

Tom, ditch the stock temp gauge. When you stop over, I will show you my setup
