200tdi oil cooler lines

Are the factory oil cooler lines in a 200, as dangerous as in the V8?

Nowhere close, since the v8 has an exhaust manifold on the RH side which runs approx 1 inch away from the lines. Even if the diesel ones burst, there's nothing hot for them to spray onto and make fire. That being said, I had mine made out of braided stainless because I'm an anal moron. You don't need to worry about it.

You still have the issue of the age of the lines. I had a trans cooler line split going down the highway in my 1991 Classic last week. When we bent it to make a loop back to make it home it lasted another 40 miles before splitting again. Easy fix though.
