200TDI leaking oil or something

So I am a relatively new owner of an amazing 1985 90 and I've just gotten it on the road. I was having some engine smoking and realized that one of the fuel lines needed to be tightened up. My engine block was covered in Diesel. Problem number one solved. I am still getting some fluid leaking on my engine block - seems like it must be oil but i'm not sure. When it was the diesel it was getting on the top of the engine and now it seems to be lower on the left hand side as you are looking at it from the font of the truck.

Any thoughts?

See the attached photos -- the fuel was leaking out of the far right fuel line and the oil or other fluid seems to be leaking below the yellow line in the photoClick image for larger version

Clean it up really well with a pressure washer. Then drive for a short while to determine where it is coming from exactly.. Pictures look like head gasket or side cover.

Thanks Red90,
I have done that and still having a hard time figuring it out. I am planning on driving it about 300 miles over the next two days. Highway...will this be a big problem?

Sound like leaking return lines. A common problem and a super easy fix.

I had a leak at the front of the top side of the injection pump. It got pretty bad and caused it to run rough. Ended up needing a rebuild. $$$

Should be simple to tell the difference between a fuel and engine oil leak...

That corner of the head is where the oil flows up to the rocker shaft. If you look at the picture below you see a small hole at the bottom left corner and that is the only oil passage. The only other possible spots for oil leaks in that area of the block is they breather side plate and the lifter retention bolts.
