200tdi inter cooler fan?

Shayne made a good point about the inter cooler on a 200 needing help from the engine driven fan to help to cool the air in the IC.
I'm wondering how much it hurts to run a 200 inter cooler with no fan? My flex lite is mounted primarily over the radiator and has only turned on twice.

Your probably moving when your under boost, anything more than 20mph and the wind is going to be more than the fan would pull through anyways.

Everything I have heard was that there is more airflow without the shroud over the intercooler than with. Kind of like when you fully upend a bottle- the bottle neck creates considerable resistance vs a glass of the same diameter with no bottleneck.

Shroud may be better under extended low range boost situations where no air is being forced through and the fan clutch locks up but thats the only time.
