200tdi flywheel dowels

I just had my flywheel cut and they weren't able to get the 3 pointed dowels out, one came out eventually, but they just ground the other 2 down to flush.
My question is whether I should have them drilled out and find replacements for the 2 that were cut? Or can I just leave it the way it is? Use the one dowel.
Thanks

I had my 200 flywheel resurfaced without problem and my dowels remain. I suspect you can live without them, but alignment of the pressure plate is critical to getting the engine to slide back in place - you'll need a friend to hold it in place while you get the six bolts into place and snugged down.

You need the dowels. Thats crap that they could not deal with them to surface it. I would make them fabricate some to replace the missing ones. Or just order them.

The dowels are important. Without them the assembly will tend to bring itself apart and break the bolts to the pressure plate.

Good luck
