200tdi engine sources

Anyone ever hear of these guys: http://www.landroverimport.com/

or use them?

I had a couple emails back and forth and they seemed like straight shooters.

I'm going to swap my 2.5td for 200tdi this winter. Googling led me only to those guys above, at least in North America.

I'd rather not buy from the UK unless someone has some very reputiable sources. EVen if its 5k miles, I want to be able to go drive and knock at someones door if they do me wrong haha (jk...sorta)

Any suggestions where to find a 200tdi stateside? Rebuild or just a take off.

You might want to think about getting the 300 Tdi instead. I have heard that parts specific to the 200 are getting harder to get. You can still get just about everything for the 300. LandRoverImport has been advertising for a while. Have never dealt with them. I do remember some guys getting stuff from them maybe they will pipe up. Have you check Steven Peters in Florida? Also a few manufactures in the UK have complete rebuild kits that are pretty good on the price. You just have to find somebody shipping a container to get it here.

Liveridge in England are very very good guys. It's where I got my 90 rebuilt and then shipped over. Haven't ever asked if they sell engines but there is no harm in emailing them. They have supplied me with parts. You could get them to do a complete rebuild job on it too, to make sure everything is in good order.

Thanks Guys I'll have to check those links out.

So - the only additional work for a 300tdi swap vs a 200tdi is fabricating engine mounts, is that correct?

If it's a Disco Tdi, then there are a few things to do. The directory of other manuals is here.

Just finished my conversion. I did not use the special down pipe which normally is used when installing a Discovery 200Tdi. Let me know if you are interested in that.
