Cool 200TDi...Defender or Discovery

I have a spare 200TDi that I think I am going to sell (going to get a rebuilt unit due to time constraints) but I need to know if it was out of a discovery or a defender. Can someone please enlighten me as to how I tell the difference? The engine is sitting in the back of my 90 so I have easy access to all sides.

Thanks in advance,
Shawn

Discos have a low turbo and higher injection pump.

Defenders have a high mounted turbo and lower mounted injection pump.

Yes. The "engines" are the same. The timing cases and intake/exhaust manifolds are different.

That picture of the engine doesn't look like the two 300 Tdi's I have.

Thumbs up

Thanks for all the responses...Ok, I obviously have a discovery 200tdi. The turbo hangs low on the drivers side and the fuel pump is high on the pass. side. I got this unit as a spare with my def 90. Am definitely interested in selling it. I was told that it ran from Rovers Out East which is where I received it from. Anyone here interested?

I've have several offers for it but have never sold or bought one on its own before. All offers considered but the highest one gets it. I received this from Rovers Out East along with other stuff and is supposedly a running unit. Haven't ran it nor put it in anything other then setting in the back of my D90.
