200tdi Cranking Amps?

My mechanic teacher just checked the amps when I cranked the starter and it was just over 300 amps. He seems to think that is too high.
any thought on what the starter draw should be?

Depends on the weather, oil viscosity, etc. Generally speaking the starter should be allowed however much amperage it wants. As long as it starts, that is.
