200tdi Alternator

Anyone know best place to get one? Is there a NAPA part number or something that would fit?

The housing on mine where the bottom right bolt goes in sheers in half, so its just being held in place with the 2 bolts. Its Al so welding it for me isn't an option.

I bought the eBay one and swapped the pulley fir the lr one. Works great, and at 77 bucks NEW with no core it's a smoking deal

sweet, yea mines a defender engine.

Just to be clear, you post says you bought the one from discount alternator but you said you bought it from EBAY.

Either way its the same one right?

Wait - how many bolts is it held on with?

I only see two bolt holes in the pics, but the one on my truck now had 3 (the casting broke on the third)

Ok- guess its only two holes, the other is actually the bracket. Was hard to tell yesterday, covered in mud and on my back under the truck

I also bought that alternator. It came with the 2-belt pulley, which I then replaced with the original alternator's pulley. You must use washers to space the pulley properly as the ebay alternator pulley centerlines are not in line with the original 200tdi pulley.

It works perfectly though...good as new, and better than old. Tach signal through the w pin

Got the alternator in today. Fit like a glove. I didn't need to space anything out. The pulley sat right in line when I swapped it over. Here's a pic of the failure. Turns out the rear bolt wasn't in and I guess that put a lot of stress in the front one which being aluminum sheared right off. All three bolts are in now. Should be good to go!
