200 tdi turbo

I am getting ready to pull engine out for chassis change, and some where I read about re-routing the waste gate tubing from the outlet of the turbo to the exhaust manifold, as I can get to it now, is this a good mod?

Anybody have a picture of where they fitted the tubing to the manifold.

This 90 is going to be used mostly at 8000-9000 feet above sea level, so a larger intercooler will be going in, and do not intend on doing any fueling work to the Injector pump. Or should I?

Thanks, in advance

I assume you mean the intake manifold..........

There are pros and cons to each method. In the end it won't make much difference. Re-touting the injection pump pressure tube to the intake manifold is more useful.

John, I'd like to know more about what this does. Are you talking about the hose that goes from the turbo to the IP?

I'm not very good at reading minds, but generally speaking this sort of thing is done to account for the difference in air pressure at the manifold vs. the outlet of the turbo. That is, the actual intake air pressure tends to be lower than what is coming out of the turbo, especially with an intercooler in place.

I heard that before but if I get this right, the pressure inside the manifold should be lower? The "surge" of fuel would take longer to occurs . Seems to me like this shouldn't make a real difference. If one really state it make a noticeable difference on power then I'll tap in the last portion of the intercooler to manifold pipe.

It is partially about the pressure loss, although this should be quite small. It is more about control and reaction times of the systems.
