200 tdi radiator replace, reduild?

After doing some research I have decides to replace or rebuild my radiator since it is probably pretty old. What is the best way to go about this? Is it better to just buy a new one or is a recon sufficient? I am assuming any radiator shop could do a reconditioning job? If I do end up getting a new one where is the best source for this, dealer, ebay UK or is there somewhere in country that is not charging twice what it should actually cost for a new radiator. My truck is arriving tomorrow, finally, so its time to get to work!

Thanks, Jason

Do you risk getting inferior performance or leaks going this rout or is it a relatively simple procedure? I have never had a radiator rebuilt.

A rebuilt radiator IS a new radiator.

I recently had an interesting conversation with the owner of a radiator shop. I took a spare 200Tdi radiator in to be tested, and it turned out to be a nice sieve. He told me to wait until I anticipate using it, rather than having it rebuilt now. He said that a "new" radiator has a shelf life of about four years and suggested pouring in a gallon of antifreeze and slosh it around occasionally to preserve things, if you find the need to store a radiator.

When mine went shower head a couple of years ago Rover North had a replacement far cheaper than I could have it recored for.
