200 Tdi injection pump removal ...

Anyone know if it is possible to remove the injector pump on a 200tdi without removing the whole front end ? Mine started to leak from the core gaskets and needs to be overhauled.

Thanks !

Pat

Pat don't you have to remove the front timing cover in order to get the belt pulley off ? I think its inevitable.

That is what I was thinking but there is a little cover you can remove in front and was hoping it would be possible but I guess I will have to take it apart for the 3rd time now.

Thanks !

There is a tool (I fabricated one) that allows you to fix the timing belt in place (thru the small cover) and pull off the pump - the flywheel needs to be fixed just like when you change the timing belt.
