2.5 TD fueling

I'm trying to get the 2.5TD running prior to removing, lift pump seems to be working but I am not getting any fuel to the injectors. Wondering if I have it hooked up right?

should the fuel line from the filter go in 1 or 2?

And what is the second fitting for?

Is 3 the bleeder?

Didn't doug and ron have it running? If so, should be hooked up correctly if it hasn't been messed with. Suspect air leak or solenoid not working for some reason.

I think they did get it running, but the lift pump was out when I got it.
The solenoid does click

Here is a shot from my 2.5TD before I removed it. Looks like fuel from filter goes to #2, #1 is return to tank. Can't quite see what #3 is in this photo...

They are very hard to prime... You can spend hours sometimes...

Prime it until bubble free at the pump.

Crack loose all injector lines.

Once you see fuel, tighten one, then the other as it runs.
