2.5 NA Alternator

I searched and tried to find something helpful, but came up bare. Without a shop manual in front of me, I thought someone would know if the attached Alternator would be a good spare to have around for my 2.5 NA. Its off of a Disco 1. Cheap money locally and was tested fine.

Hope my pics post this time!

Cheers!

Wrong pulley for sure. Not sure about the frame.

OK thanks, Chris. Just thought for 30 bucks it would be worth having a spare...if it fit

No. The Disco's tensioner ear is on the wrong side and they won't fit. New aftermarket 65 A units cost very little.

Thanks Red. Would like an eventual upgrade to support the winch purchase and a yellow top is on the way.

Thx!!

The 100amp output would certainly help when a winch is involved.

If you're looking for reliability, stay away from Optima batteries.

Optima quality went to hell years ago. I used to recommend Sears DieHard Platinum PM-1 batteries but these, too, have been shitty lately. Odyssey PC2150 is the way to go, in my opinion. I found a good deal on one at a local Odyssey dealer.
