19J TD alternator question

I have a newly restored '88 110 with less than 2500 miles. The rebuilt series type alternate apparently was going bad with the battery warning light on and pulsing at low RPMS. It was intermittent and the head lights seemed to pulsate slightly, also.

Installed a "new" (I guess rebuilt) alternator and it was fine for about 100 miles. Now occasional battery light comes on at low RPMs.

Does anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

Yes, low idle, especially after a 20 minute ride.

I had a "new" a127 alternator on my 2.5NA give up the ghost after ~500 miles, kept taking more and more RPM to come on line. Turned out to be a bad regulator so I bought a heavy duty one from a tractor parts place and its been fine since. One minute job once the alternator is out. there are apparently a lot of crap quality regulators out there so try and get a decent one if that is your problem.

I agree. Look at the belt first.
