1997 Speedo Delay

Something weird started happening recently...

When coming to a complete stop, there is a delay in the speedo hitting zero. after I'm stopped, it's usually on about 15mph, then falls very constantly over 1-2 seconds, sometimes pausing on 5mph before hitting zero.

My first thought was the VSS; which could be related to a sporadic idle-issue I've been stalking for a while now. So had Lamorna replace that today, but it is still doing it.

I also recently had the gauges apart to change bulbs, and noticed that the speedo light bulbs are a bit finniky if I wobble the wires in the quick-connector to the speedo.

Possibly that it could be caused by a loose connection? any other thoughts if it's not the VSS?

Damn GEMS trucks... anyone want to swap for a 94?

I think my Speedo does the same thing. It must be normal for these. Probably nothing to worry about.

Mine does the same thing. It bounces when you are going under 10 mph. Between the speedo and the gas gauge, my reading are just rough suggestions of the status. Mine might as well have labels instead that say "slow, slower, stopped" and "sort of full" and "oh shit, your empty, sorry for the late notice".
