1997 Defender 90 Soft Top - Dome Light Housing & Rear Speaker Housing

Hey guys! I'm a new Defender owner and new to the board as well!

I just bought a Black 1997 Defender 90 Soft Top. It's a great vehicle, but there's a few little things I'd like to fix up.

The biggest item on my list is the HOUSING for the dome light. It's injection molded plastic and it houses the light itself. It sits right above my rear view mirror. Unfortunately, it has a big crack in it and I'd prefer to locate a new part, rather than just glue it up. I've tried Rovers North, Atlantic British and even Safari HP in Orlando. Would anyone have any idea how to find this piece? It's part of what may be a 3 piece trim set above the windshield.

Also, one of my plastic rear speaker housings are cracked. Anyone have any idea on this too?

Thanks in advance!

PK

Congrats on the D. A crack is nothing you'll find. It's when you're missing chunks of the piece that you're really in trouble. Glue it and paint it if necessary. The parts are pretty much unobtainium. Some of the guys here have thought about fabbing them and I think someone will be having some success soon. Fingers crossed as I'll be needing a set too. There is also a guy fabbing a perfect replica of the st rear speaker boxes out of metal! They'll be awesome and you should get on the list as well. Use the search tool on the forum as you will find most of the questions you'll have answered. Check out these links:

Any idea how I can get on that list? I've seen metal speaker boxes for the Defender before, but nothing that is a perfect replica that doesn't require modifications back there!

Updated with the right link above and go to page 4.

The dome light is part of the three piece trim and you should check out this thread for info on the progress of the fab.
